earpieceMy basic review of a new earpiece it begins well, looks quite cool, is simple to run and actually energy efficient, the earpiece really is a top quality item. Im pleased I bought it, read more below.

The PD782, PD785 and PD702 Hytera radios are affordable, as well as being easy to use and providing high quality audio. This is a good combination when it comes to two-way radios, a technology that, by definition, needs to be durable, easily replaceable and effortlessly useable in case of emergency.

The parent company, Hytera, have been operating since 1993 and in that time they have developed a strong reputation as an industry leader. In short, they are in the process of cultivating a trusted international brand. Hytera are an emerging brand with a considerable track record for producing quality technology at premium prices.

Another likely source of Hyteras recent success is the effectiveness of the Hytera earpiece. The Hytera multi-pin earpiece is designed for use with the PD702 and PD782 radio models. It features excellent playback, as well as being solid and durable. This Hytera earpiece is available for around 40.00 and is a professional level model, proving highly effective for many modern surveillance exercises.

Returning to the two-way radio discussion, Hytera radios include a number of advanced features, including a robust design, as well as a full colour LCD display, something that is a rarity in todays market. There are also a high number of messaging options.

The PD785 is IP57 rated. This means that it can even be completely submerged for up to 30 minutes without obtaining any significant damage. It can also switch between analogue and digital mode and features full digital encryption.

Hytera have received a boost in sales because they have created a series of products that are up-to-date, hardwearing and professional. Two-way radios need to be reliable as a matter of fact, which is why these products are selling so well.

Can You Prevent Cell Phone Radiation With the Bluetube Headset and Airtube Handsfree?

The world is filled with really cool, well written posts. When you find one which catches your eye, you have got to repost it, well i do! so with consent of the original blogger i’ve posted this to benefit from

audioMobile phone radiation is starting to become a preferred subject among many when it comes to health. Many once thought that the idea of radiation being emitted from these products was simply an urban parable. However, after many years of systematic research, it’s been established that these telecommunication devices do, in reality, emit some level of danger – with electromagnetic radiation.

This occurs because for a user of these devices to get a signal to make a receive calls, radio signals must be there. These are broadcast using radio-frequency energy. This form of energy is a kind of radiation that is thought to be “electromagnetic”. Here, you may find out about cell telephone radiation and how it’s possible for you to duck the danger with the BlueTube Headset.

When I first learned of the complications that mobile phones could probably pose to people, I started conducting research on tactics that I could protect myself, as well as my buddies and family and friends from this danger without utterly junking these convenient devices from our lives altogether. It is then I discovered what’s known as the “airtube headset”. While this was said to be a useful cure for a few years, at last I ran across a fresh product that was called the “Blue Tube Headset”.

This device was more structurally sound and appeared to supply a higher shield level from exposure to threatening energy levels emitted from mobile phones. The team that designed this piece actually worked for more than a decade to guarantee . The product was sturdy and may be used for an extended period of time without experiencing damage. It was made with the theory of the airtube headset to mind, but it basically filtered transmissions away from the head and the ear canal. As well as this, the sound quality wasn’t influenced.

When an individual is exposed to cell telephone radiation, many things happen that may have a direct effect on the fitness of that person. First, and naturally, the exposure comes in direct contact with the head and ear area.

This power source has the potential to essentially warm the tissues ; very similar to a microwave does, when there is close contact. The following list demonstrates some of the dangerous complications of exposure to electro-magnetic radiation : Damage to the eyes an mild to dreadful headaches.

Cancers in and round the area of the brain numerous sorts of cancers exaggerated levels of fatigue
The development of Dementia and Alzheimer’s Illness. By taking a product and placing it into place as an element of your daily cell telephone use regime, you might potentially be avoiding all these difficulties, as well as other health worries that are presently being studied by health execs. Mobile Phone Radiation Prevention methods in association with the ever-popular BlueTube Headset, there are numerous other cell telephone radiation prevention methodologies.

The following details some steps that you can take to stop the quantity of exposure that you experience : try and purchase mobile phones that implement the use of a headset that is known as “hands-free”. When using the device, adjust the antenna to where it is in the fullest upright position.

When using cell telephones, it is vital to do so in spaces that are wide and open. Only use the cell phone when the signal strength is at maximum capacity. If you employ it at other times, it will work more conscientiously to acquire a signal which indicates more radio wave energy is being broadcast.

Conclusion As you can see, mobile phone radiation is a heightening concern for every one of us. Many health issues have been accredited to exposure to the radiation that these devices emit. If you would like to keep on using your cell telephone, it is critical to take some preventative measures. One of the first things that you can do is purchase the BlueTube Headset. As well as this, using the device when signal strength is at its fullest and in open spaces can be of benefit too.

TECH NEWS Electric Buses Set to Arrive on Time!

When we found this post we were so pleased, having hunted for over one year for this, finding it on this website was an exciting day for me.

Eight experimental electric buses will be operating in Milton Keynes from late January onwards. The fleet will begin operating along the busy Number 7 route, which covers the 15 miles between Wolverton and Bletchley. They are the first electric buses to operate in the UK.

UK-based bus manufacturer Wrightbus have built these new electric buses in conjunction with Japanese company Mitsui and UK engineering group Arup.

Wireless ‘booster’ plates in the road, placed at the beginning/end of the route, give the buses a charge that allows them to operate for a full day. They are then charged overnight at the bus depot.

The buses will need to stop over the booster plates, before lowering the bus’ own receiver plates and resting there for 10 minutes’ charge time. The journey will then resume, exactly the same way a regular bus ride does.

The process is called ‘inductive charging’ and it involves electricity passing though wire coils in the plates that creates a magnetic field. The field then shares its voltage with the bus’ receiver plates, charging them up.

Similar electric bus trials are being implemented in Italy, the Netherlands and Germany. In 2013, South Korea unveiled a 7.5-mile stretch of road, which recharges electric vehicles as they drive over it, without requiring any charge time at all.

In an interview with the BBC, John Bint of Milton Keynes Council said, “Electric buses have huge potential and we’re exploring how they can help us take better care of the environment without compromising passenger service,”

If these trial models prove to be successful, the Council plans to run them all across the town.

The environmental impact of this scheme is certainly considerable, with local councils potentially being able to significantly reduce their area’s carbon footprint. In addition, the future development of electric buses can only help the similar evolution of the electric car, an invention that has the potential to seriously lower the world’s carbon emissions.

Arup consultant John Miles who is also an engineering professor at Cambridge University, told BBC that, “These electric buses will be expected to do everything a diesel bus does (…) They will be operating on a demanding urban route, and that’s all part of the trial’s aim – to prove that electric buses can be tough as well as green.”

Making Her Into Reality

Making “Her” Into Reality
Whilst many of my readers might be keen on some of our own posts, here is one i found looking around wordpress.com it is far better written than I could ever expect to accomplish. Maybe at some point Ill get to this rank, you never know.

headset. earphonesSpike Jonze’s latest movie, “Her,” creates a future where technology is less visible, yet more ubiquitous than today. The main character uses an earpiece and handheld device to communicate with an operating system that follows a user across any platform, rarely utilizing the traditional desktop screens except when at work. And the main way of interacting with the operating system is through natural, conversational speech.

Even though it is science fiction, “Her” seems to be the end state for many current acquisitions and research from real-life tech companies. These companies are pursuing enhanced artificial intelligence and speech recognition. And the companies who don’t jump on this future will be left in the digital dust.

Established artificial intelligence
The most well-known characters in AI today are IBM’s Watson and Apple’s Siri.

Watson takes human’s natural language and filters through data to find the most probable answers. It can take “unstructured data,” that is, data computers typically cannot read because it isn’t structured in tables, rows, or columns, and turn it into knowledge accessible not through complex queries but simple, vocal questions. It’s now being used to help doctors find better cancer treatments and financial planners find better investments. IBM hopes Watson will bring in $1 billion in revenue by 2018.

Siri first debuted in Apple’s iPhone 4S, allowing for simple functions like searching the web and initiating a call or writing a text message. The latest iOS version added more functionality for Siri, like sourcing information from Wikipedia and Twitter.

Apple’s latest acquisitions point to further enhancements for Siri. In 2013, the company picked up intelligent calendar application Cue, which helps layout a user’s day similar to Google Now. It also bought Topsy, which allowed customers to analyze and search social posts. And, a recently published patent points to expanding Siri from phones to docks.

Up and coming AI
Now, Google spent a rumored $400 million on an artificial intelligence company called DeepMind. DeepMind’s website describes its software as useful in “simulations, e-commerce, and games,” and the company has an impressive talent list with a former child chess prodigy and a Skype co-creator. This piles on to Google’s other recent acquisitions of robot maker Boston Dynamics and smart home hardware maker Nest. If Google can succeed in integrating these seemingly disparate companies, it seems like having a conversation with your thermostat isn’t too far off.

Losers of an AI future
While these companies are priming themselves to own any science fiction-like future, there are companies doomed to languish if they don’t change their path.

This includes the lowly hardware maker. The future presented in “Her” doesn’t contain several devices in multiple form factors as we have now, but one handheld device and one wearable earpiece that connects to a cloud-based operating system. IBM, a case study in staying relevant, keeps shedding its hardware operations with its latest $2.3 billion sale of its server business to Lenovo. As the main players build their artificially intelligent ecosystems, the hardware becomes less important as it’s commoditized, and the main differentiation becomes software. Companies might also want more control over their hardware and the user experience, and produce their own. For example, Apple recently purchased a cutting-edge chip maker, Primesense. Microsoft stepped into producing its own hardware with its Surface tablets.

Just a movie?
On the other hand, “Her,” like most future predictions, could be far off base. While it seems artificial intelligence will play a large role in future computing, we may combine such technology with even more screens. The point where computers become more intelligent than humans, called the singularity, may not come as quickly as predicted, and these future bets may be too far off to have any impact on company values today.

Gaming Accessories for PC: Learn the Best Brands of Mice, Keyboards, and Headsets!

audioArticle of the Day………ok so i don’t have a piece of writing seven days a week, but when i get a chance I’ll post content that I find fascinating. Fortunate enough here is one of those articles that I read and needed to share. If you enjoy it as much as me, please add one of the special social media likes, you know the one which tells everyone you loved something, rather then you sat on your arse and watched Television!

Choosing the right gaming accessories for PC can be a tough choice, and a lot of factors can come into play when making the right decision on equipment. In most cases this is personal preference, and if you previously had a positive experience with a brand you will most likely choose their products again. However if you’re new to PC gaming then you probably don’t know which brand to choose.

We will discuss the different brands, pros and cons, differences, and much more of each category in the hope that you can further your knowledge about gaming accessories and find the perfect brand for yourself! The different accessories that will be mainly discussed in this hub will be Gaming Mice, Keyboards, and Headsets.

See all 5 photos MiceMice are usually the most critical decision in most gamers accessories, this is because the mice controls all of the precise movement within the game. If you have a good and precise mouse then you are most likely going to perform better than someone with a cheap mouse. Don’t get me wrong though skill still plays a big part in that.

Mice come in many different ways and forms. Some mice are specially designed for certain game genres and others are more general, some are wireless or wired, and some are controlled by a wheel where others are controlled by a laser. Most of these factors come down to personal preferences, and some of the features of certain mice are unnecessary depending on what type of game that you are playing.

There are upsides and downsides of each of these features. For example if you are buying a mouse designed for an MMO game and you are playing shooters with it the main “MMO features” of the mouse are not going to be of much use. This goes right along with buying a mouse that is wireless, you do not have the nuisance of having wires, but at the same time you can have it die on you while playing, and you could experience very slight latency effects (unless you are a professional gamer you will most likely not notice this). We will however continue on with these specific features in another hub.

Two main companies that produce gaming mice are Razer and Logitech. Both of these companies make some of the best mice on the market today.
SPEED STACKS Lot GLOW IN THE DARK GREEN Cups, RED Cups, TIMER, MAT Current Bid: $11.49 The Razer Naga See all 5 photos This is the Razer Naga that has 17 extra buttons that are programmable. RazerThe first of the two brands that we’re going to discuss today is going to be Razer. As previously mentioned they are top of the line when it comes to gaming mice and other accessories. They make some of the most unique mice in the industry. They produce genre specific mice, that have specific specialties.
One special mouse that they make is the called the “Razer Naga” that is a special MMO mouse. What makes this mouse special is that it has 17 extra programmable buttons on it. This is helpful mainly because there are a lot of buttons to hit in most MMO games. This mouse however is still very precise so it is still a good mouse for games that require precision.
The Logitech G500 See all 5 photos This is the Logitech G500 gaming mouse. New Logitech MX518 Gaming Mouse 1800 dpi MX 518 USB Optical Mouse Current Bid: $33.99 LogitechThe second of the two, Logitech, is also well known when it comes to gaming mice. Logitech is not as unique when it comes to making their mice, but straight up just have good quality mice. Since they make more general mice they are usually preferred in games that require precision, but don’t think that means that Razer is not used!
One of the fairly popular Logitech models is the G500. This mouse includes 10 buttons (not all directly by the thumb like the Razer Naga) and has very precise movement. Logitech also makes fairly popular non-gaming mice and other products.

This is the website for Logitech, and has all of their products available and much more!

The Official Razer Website.

KeyboardsThe second topic of interest for today is keyboards. This is going to be a much more broad and less specific category due to keyboards not being viewed as important as a mouse. What I mean by this is that if you have a cheap or a non-gaming keyboard it does not have as much as an impact as a mouse. Similar to gaming mice, gaming keyboards also have features that are not included in normal keyboards. Some of these features include the ability to light up your keyboard with back-lights, higher quality keys, and higher quality rests for your hands that allow for hours of pain free gaming.

Again similar to mice, these keyboards also have different preference options. These could include features like wired or wireless, which is not as common as mice. Other preference features include whether you have a mechanical keyboard or a standard, which has to do with the keys and how they press, their sensitivity, etc. Mechanical keyboards are usually more expensive than non-mechanical. Back-light color is also a preference instance, but is purely cosmetic.
Just like gaming mice, gaming keyboards have similar brands, in which Razer and Logitech gaming keyboards will be discussed.
Razer Lycosa See all 5 photos Razer Lycosa gaming keyboard, which includes a nice sleek design and blue back-lights. RazerSimilar to Razer gaming mice, their gaming keyboards are of high quality. They are not as unique, but still raise the bar. The majority of their keyboards focus on sleek designs with maximum comfort intended. Sleek designs are often the best route to go for gaming keyboards as they also look visually appealing.
A popular Razer keyboard is the “Razer Lycosa”. This is another one of the Razer keyboards that follows the sleek and slim design and also has backlights!
LogitechLogitech also follows the sleek designs for their gaming keyboards. Like Logitech’s gaming mice, their keyboards are also fairly standard in the respect that they do not seem to have any unique features on their keyboards. However they still are of high quality and performance.
One of the more popular Logitech gaming keyboards is the Logitech G110 which has a sleek design and blue back-lights. One this different about this keyboard is that it has extra buttons to the left.

List Price: $79.99Headsets The next and final accessory for discussion is headsets. Headsets are pretty straight forward in the respect that they do not have any different or surprising features. The market for headsets are very large, and they have uses outside gaming. Some of which include of course listening to music, chatting with friends, etc.
One of the few special features include cross platform use. This would mean that you could not only use it on your computer, but also on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 gaming consoles. I think this is an amazing option to have when you are gaming and I think it should become a more standard feature among headsets.
The two brands of headsets that we will look at Turtle Beach and Creative Software Headsets.

Turtle Beach HeadsetsEar Force X11 Amplified Stereo Headset with ChatThis is a great headset that works very nicely and has a reasonable price.Amazon Price: $59.99
Ear Force X41 (XBOX LIVE Chat + Wireless Digital RF Game Audio with Dolby Headphone 7.1 Surround Sound)Amazon Price: $129.99
List Price: $199.99Turtle BeachTurtle beach is a fairly common brand that makes some pretty good headsets. The cool thing about most of their headsets is that they are specially designed for all platforms. They also offer many different options in their headsets, such as offering wired or wireless versions of their headsets, offering higher or lower audio quality, etc. This brand of headset is more common among console gaming, but still has PC presence. The main reason I chose to add them in this hub is that they have great diversity, which I think is great.
A popular turtle beach model is the “Turtle Beach X11” which is a cheaper model. It offers the brand-standard platform diversity, and is also wired.
The World of Warcraft Soundblaster Headset See all 5 photos Includes great padding and LEDs. Creative SoftwareThe second brand of headset is Creative Software’s Sound Blaster headsets. I think that Creative also makes some high quality products. However I find that Creative for the most part standards at higher end products, and most of their headsets are PC only. Something unique about their headsets is that some have an LED option, which makes for a cool feel. Creative headsets also usually offer some very high quality padding that is very comfortable.
One of the popular headsets under the Creative brand is the Sound Blaster World of Warcraft Headset. This is not the most popular or best creative headset, but I think it is neat because of the LEDs, and it also offers some great padding and noise reduction. The padding on this headset allows for hours of un-irritated gaming.

OverviewThere are many factors that come down into picking the right gaming accessories, and whether you are new to PC gaming or a veteran you will most likely have to go through them multiple times. Whether you are choosing the most precise mouse that will get the most bang for your buck or the budget headset, there are usually products for everyone! In conclusion, gaming accessories are a very important part of PC gaming and should be taken as such.

The Dermal Regenerator

audioAnyhow ladies and gentlemen, i’ve a new excellent technology piece of writing to read, i know, you do not need to thank me each and every one, just add a social like to the short article to show your appreciation.

A prop often mentioned and seen in ‘Star Trek’ from ‘The Next Generation’ onwards, the dermal regenerator is a wonderful little slice of 24th century medicine.

Usually depicted as a small, handheld device that emits a miniature laser beam, the Regenerator is used to heal minor flesh wounds, fix scars and repair trauma that would otherwise require stitches.

As far as I know, the theoretical underpinnings of this amazing device are never discussed, so I have no idea how it is supposed to work (unlike warp drive, which is powered by a matter/anti matter reaction, just in case you wondered).

Why we want it:

Can you imagine never needing to have stitches or never having to painfully heal up after a nasty run in with a kitchen knife? Moreover, can you imagine a world where serious injuries, 3rd degree burns or facial scars could be treated permanently, in a matter of seconds?

Many painful minor injuries would be rendered completely harmless and hospitals would get through most of their A&E in-patients in a matter of minutes.

When can we expect it?

Dermal regeneration technology is actually not as far away as we might think.

A few years ago, scientists pioneered what they called a ‘skin cell gun’ as a method for treating burn victims. This little doohickey literally sprays stem cells taken from the victim onto the inflamed skin.
While a skin graft can be prone to infection, take ages to heal and involve a long and agonizing recovery process, the skin cell gun can replicate a successful skin graft in a matter of days, completely removing the need for surgery.

The skin cell gun can be used to treat second-degree burns, as it relies on the body’s natural healing abilities and works with existing skin cells. It is, however, not quite at the level of Star Trek’s favourite medical tool.

The gun cannot be used to treat third-degree burns, for example, because they strip away both the epidermis and dermis skin levels, leaving the cells nothing to work with. In addition, the gun can only be used on fresh burns.

There are other drawbacks too, leading to the skin cell gun’s status as ‘not yet approved’ by the FDA. Principally, the device is still relatively untested and no one knows what sort of long-term future the repaired skin may have.

On the upside, JC. Gerlach, inventor of this amazing device, has also been able to demonstrate that the newly grown skin cells actually go on to become fully functional in every way, forming epidermis, dermis and even new blood vessels. The new skin also better matches the original pigmentation of the victim.

It is hoped by many in the scientific community that a similar method as that used by the skin cell gun may also one day be used to grow replacement organs for those in need of a transplant.

Star Trek’s dermal regenerator may yet be a convenient fiction, but the prototype for it exists in the here and now, with extremely promising results. Will a technology that closely resembles the ones used by Beverly Crusher and her colleagues in the 24th Century be available in the real world one day? It certainly looks likely, I’m happy to say.

Cool Factor: 4/5

Nothing says progress like laser beams that re-grow injured skin in a matter of seconds. Imagine the amount of people who’s suffering would simply cease. Here’s hoping that we eventually see this device in action (or not, as the case may be, given that I’d probably have to endure a painful injury in order to do so).

Riveting, Nimble & Elegant Thriller ‘Grand Piano’ Starring Elijah Wood & John Cusack

Riveting, Nimble & Elegant Thriller ‘Grand Piano’ Starring Elijah Wood & John Cusack
You’ve probably stumbled upon this looking for information about earpiece’s, hopefully this will help you answer some of those questions, if not please click on one of the relevant links within the article

A welcome reminder that high-concept thrillers neednt rely on stupid coincidences and even stupider characters in order to succeed, Grand Piano turns the unlikeliest of scenarios into a riveting battle of wills. The story of a concert pianist whose comeback performance gets hijacked by a sniper with a secret agenda, director Eugenio Miras latest film breathlessly combines artistic anxiety and personal desperation, providing its character with a journey as intense emotionally as it is physically. In fact, probably the best Brian De Palma movie he never made, Grand Piano expands the boundaries of single-location, real-time mysteries like Phone Booth and Panic Room with a brilliantly simple concept and nimble, elegant style.

Elijah Wood plays Tom Selznick, a master-class pianist set to play in public for the first time in five years. Having famously choked during a performance of a piece by his late mentor, he is understandably nervous about his return to the stage. But shortly after he begins playing, he discovers that someone has marked up his sheet music with threats to murder him and his wife Emma (Kerry Bish) unless he performs flawlessly. Receiving an earpiece (www.monvans.com) that allows his would-be puppetmaster (John Cusack) to communicate with him, he’s confronted with a challenge that has multiple repercussionsnamely, in delivering a performance that not only saves his career, but his very life.

As loath as I am to describe the music in the film as another character, the concerto written by Victor Reyes is absolutely essential, providing a (no pun intended) meticulously orchestrated through line that frames and enhances each new development in the story even as it serves as a ubiquitous reminder of Selznicks past failures. That it occasionally allows him to depart the stage mid-performance constitutes great planning on Miras part, but the fact that it provides a parallel line for Selznicks emotional state as he embarks on this unexpected rollercoaster is truly masterful. There are few modern examples of music being truly integrated into storytelling, certainly as well as this film does, and even without an appreciation for classical composition, theres much to admire about its use and effectiveness.

As the man behind the keys, Wood carries the film, finding a believable and compelling arc for a character whose default setting might in lesser hands be desperation. Selznicks paralyzing fears of choking a second time are echoed repeatedly in dialogue in opening scenes, first during a particularly contentious phone interview commemorating the performance, then from virtually everyone he encountershes not allowed to forget how grandly he flopped five years prior, even if he could manage to forgive himself. But through Wood, the character convincingly evolves over the course of the film, initially aiming for perfection out of fear, and then slowly building his confidence as he begins to devise a way to turn the tables on his unseen adversary.

Wood is an ideal casting choice for a role like thishandsome and obviously gifted, but overshadowed physically by the actress who plays his more-successful movie star wifeand he turns an otherwise self-contained journey into an opportunity for personal empowerment and professional redemption. Meanwhile, Cusack has less to do physically as the voice on the other end of Selznicks earpiece, but he nevertheless communicates a palpable sense of danger that his victim is right to take seriously. Together, they create a psychological duel worthy of the films theatrical pitch, cementing its intensity as the final, crucial notes of Selznicks performance rapidly approach.

Serving as more than a welcome contrast to the handheld, improvisational camerawork of too many other movies these days, Miras direction is a marvel of fluidity and poetry. The careful composition of each shot enhances the films melodramatic sweep without distracting from the story and performances; whether simply taking inspiration or outright stealing pages from (classic) De Palmas playbook, Mira distinguishes his film with a classical, muscular visual style that suits its high-society backdrop, and mirrors Selznicks mental scramble to focus on his performance and his potential murder at the same time.

Although hes occasionally distracted by expository or plot-lengthening devices such as the snipers accomplice and Selznick’s wifes obnoxiously self-involved friend, Mira makes a breakthrough here as a storyteller and visual stylist that should pay great dividends, regardless of whether or not he chooses to migrate from Spain to Hollywood. But regardless of his own future, Mira makes Selznicks comeback a remarkably immediate experience by dropping the audience into the middle of his implausible, heightened concept and then enabling them to identify with the characters anguish. Ultimately an expertly timed, painstakingly assembled and endlessly engaging game of cat and mouse, Grand Piano succeeds as a whole for the same reasons that Selznick doesnamely, because Mira brings all of its elements to work together in concert, and then executes them like a virtuoso.

How Do Noise Cancelling Headphones Work?

earpieceSome of the professional writers on the web are at such a high level that i wonder if any of them have ever written a book? so every now and then i like to focus on these brilliant items and here is one i found fascinating the other day.

Noise cancelling headphones are useful to block out noise in noisy environments like trains, buses, and public places.

The technical theory that is worked out is that this device copies the sound waves from outside and then they make these sound waves go out of phase. It can be also compared to that of swimming upstream. If a river’s downstream current is directly proportionate to your upstream swimming strength, then you stay still.

In this case, the device stays quiet!

There are two models of noise cancelling headphones. Over-the -head headphones are a little larger and less compact but the Earbud headphones are compact and can be carried around in your pocket.

There are two types of headphones designed to reduce the interference of the noise that is created in the background. They are the passive noise canceling headphones and the active noise cancelling headphones. Passive noise cancelling headphones work on the theory of muffling the external noise or sound to lessen the interference with music or recorded speech.

Active noise cancelling headphones on the other hand, electronically decrease the external sound and produce a quiet and calm listening environment.

Passive headphones essentially utilize the muffling characteristics that are provided by circum- aural headphones. It is designed like a cup with the rim surrounding the ear. The rim constitutes of high- density foam and sound dampening material. It is soft and doesn’t hurt the ears and it creates an acoustic seal that has the capacity to block 20 decibels of noise.

Active noise cancelling headphones are a more advanced version and have the potential to reduce 20 decibels more noise reduction than the passive model. It uses the phase cancelling technology in its working. This is the main key feature of this model. It works by using a microphone to pick out the external noise which the circum- aural cushions are unable to prevent or block out.

The frequency and the intensity of the external noise are analyzed by the phase canceling circuit and it generates a mirror image of the noise. The noise created is 180 degrees out of phase.

The speaker of the headphones plays the anti-noise along with the music or recorded speech. The artificially generated anti-noise is exactly the opposite of the external noise that has entered the device and so when the two noises meet they cancel out each other. The end result is that the volume of the external noise becomes extinct and the audio you are listening to becomes very clear and audible.

What are Earbuds

Boy. The brand new headset is incredible. I mean it is just so beautiful and so advanced. I pity people who grew up without the earpiece.
Earbuds are headphones, typically made out of a hard plastic material, that fit inside the ear, just outside of the ear canal. These arent the same thing as ear canal headphones, which have a rubber tip and seal within a listeners ear canal.

audioSeveral portable music devices, like mp3s and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), come with earbuds when the device is purchased. Earbuds are a less expensive alternative to ear canal headphones or other listening devices. Consumers tend to purchase earbuds for their convenience, as they are easier to carry around than other headphones because of their small size.

This style of headphone also tends to be more inexpensive than other kinds, like ear canal headphones, circumaural headphones that fit outside the ears, or the supra-aural headphones that have pads that are placed on top of the ears, rather than around or inside them. Circumaural headphones are typically used in recording studios and supra-aural headphones can still be purchased at some stores, though these kinds of devices have given way to headphones that fit within the ear.

Because of the design of earbuds, there can be a few drawbacks to owning them as opposed to owning another style of headphone. First, the rigid design of earbuds can sometimes make it difficult for them to fit comfortably inside a listeners ear. If theyre too large or too small, they can either slip out of the ear or wont fit inside it at all. Another problem reported by consumers is that because earbuds dont seal the ear canal, the sound quality is muddled through other ambient noises.

Essentially, most earbuds work the same as other headphones and the set-up is relatively simple. Wires move up from the electronic device that is putting out sound, such as an mp3 player. These wires connect to a voice coil. The coil is attached to a cone, which is flexible and plastic. A magnet is attached to the back of the earbuds. When sound passes up through the wires and to the magnet, the voice coil becomes electromagnetic and moves up and down with the sound. The cone then pushes the sound out through the earbud and into the listeners ear.

When listening to earbuds or any other type of headphones, physicians recommend to keep the volume at a reasonable level, as research had proven that prolonged exposure to high noise levels can lead to permanent hearing loss. Prolonged listening to loud noises, including music, puts unnecessary stress on the hairs in the cochlea. This causes permanent damage to the hairs and can eventually lead to hearing loss.

Turtle Beach i60 review: Wi-Fi headset made for Macs

I do not know if you came here because you read it on social media, twitter, facebook, google +, stumble upon or anywhere else. thankyou for visiting and I hope you take pleasure in reading this as much as I did.

i60 review
Turtle Beach is well known in the gaming community, with its gaming headsets favourites of tournament players. So you might be thinking what is a gaming headset company doing designing a headset with Apple users in mind. Macs arent exactly renowned as gaming machines, although Mac gaming is getting better. So what opportunity has Turtle Beach identified in the Apple market that has lead it to market this new Wi-Fi headset as ideal for Apple products?

Obviously we arent talking just Macs, and neither is Turtle Beach. The i60 headset is designed for use with Apple products, most notably for multitasking between various different Apple products. For example, you could listen to the movie you are playing on your Mac and answer a call on your iPhone at the same time while the movie audio continues to play in the background. You could even talk to Siri on your iPad thats over the other side of the room, all via the i60 headset.

The multitasking is possible because the i60 headphones feature both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 +EDR connectivity, Turtle Beach is also selling at the slightly cheaper i30 headset but that set lacks the Wi-Fi, relying on Bluetooth for wireless audio. Listening to music via Bluetooth is never going to give you a great experience, so the i60s look like the obvious choice, but do the additional features warrant the extra 100 expense – thats 349.95 compared to 249.95. And does the Turtle Beach i60 Media Headset even warrant a price that puts it in the same league as big players such as the Bowers & Wilkins P7 Mobile Headphones, Parrot Zik, and Bose QuietComfort 3 (in fact all those headsets cost less than the i60s).

In the Turtle Beach i60 box
The first place to start is by looking at whats in the box. Along with the i60 headset there is the i60 transmitter; a USB cable for connecting your Mac to the transmitter; a headset charging cable that plugs into the USB port on your Mac (theres no mains charger included); an audio cable (for plugging in your iPad or iPhone); a 6.3mm adapter plug and an airline adaptor plug (why dont airlines just change this port?); a headset carry bag (pictured below); a Quick Start Guide; and a Turtle Beach sticker. Rechargeable lithium polymer batteries with, according to Turtle Beach, up to 15 hours continuous operating time are also included, although its more realistic to suggest you will get 10 hours of continuous play on a single battery charge.

Turtle Beach i60 set up
That Quick Start guide is definitely worth a read because these arent simple plug and play headphones, but dont let that put you off, the reason they arent plug and play is the fact that they offer surround sound capabilities and youll need to change the default settings on your Mac to get the most out of them. You can view the i60 instruction manual online here.

That manual takes you through the set up with easy to follow illustrations. Start in System Preferences and in your Sound settings associate the Turtle Beach i60 Media Headset with Output and Turtle Beach i60 Chat (USB) with Input. Then you need to open the Audio Midi Setup and configure the speaker output at 8ch-16bit integer. The multichannel then needs to be changed to 7.1 surround. It sounds much more complicated than it is – the clear instructions in the guide make it simple.

Once you have told your Mac what its dealing with the next step is to set up the transmitter that connects with the headset via Wi-Fi. If the LED is blinking it is unable to communicate with the headset. To get the headset and transmitter talking, start by turning the headset off, then press and hold the Power Button for about 5 seconds until it announces Pairing Headset. Now press the pairing button on the transmitter until that LED begins to blink. When the units are paired the LED will remain on on the transmitter, the LED on the headphones will blink intermittently, and a voice will announce headset paired.

Finally, setting up Bluetooth pairing is a case of pressing the Bluetooth LED on the side of the headset for 5 seconds until the voice prompt announces Bluetooth Pairing. Then go to Settings on your iPad or iPhone, turn on Bluetooth and select Turtle Beach i60 Media Headset from the devices listed. The good news is you can simultaneously pair to two Bluetooth-enabled devices with the i60 at once and the i60 will automatically remember the last two paired devices upon powering on. However, only one Bluetooth device can be active on the headset at a time.

You can also pair your headset with your Mac via Bluetooth, but you wont be able to take advantage of the surround sound audio features.

Receiving a call via the i60 headset
Once set up you can listen to audio on your headset via Wi-Fi and, as long as you are connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth, when you get a call youll hear your ring tone and you can answer it. If you get a call when you are listening to audio on your headset the audio will be lowered automatically, but it will still play in the background and when the call is finished you wont have to reconnect the headset to your computer.

To answer that call you tap a button on the side of the headset. The mic is incorporated into the headset and it offers noise filtering technology.
There are a total of nine buttons and various combinations of key presses to learn, from a double key press to redial a phone number to three key presses to activate Siri, but its logical enough to learn and youll hear a button selection voiceover so you know what you pressed.

Audio settings for the i60 headset
There is an app you can download to your iPhone (Ear Force Audio Hub) that allows you to fine tune your headset. We like the way you can adjust and optimise sound using various presets from flat equalisation or to bass boost, but also a mid boost for human speech, Footstep Focus (ideal for game play), and Superhuman hearing (also designed for gaming). There are also three surround sound settings: movie mode, music mode, game more, you can also turn surround sound off. The strange omission is the fact that you cannot increase or decrease the volume using the iPhone app, nor do the volume controls on your iPhone have an impact. Given that many of the presets are louder or quieter than others its frustrating that you need to use many different means to make adjustments. We would have preferred to be able to adjust the sound levels from our iPhone given that we were using it to change the sound presets. Adjusting the volume is a case of finding the buttons on the back of the ear piece, or using the Wi-Fi transmitter, which features a big outer ring for volume control. This volume control is a bit redundant if you happen to be over the other side of the room, which is after all the point of using Wi-Fi, but it looks nice.

You can also play around with the microphone using the app. There are four settings: flat, high morph (to sound like a chipmunk), low morph (to sound like a robot), and voice reverb. Were not entirely sure when wed implement these sounds.

The Bluetooth volume control in independent of the Wi-Fi volume control – so if you have the volume on high while you are watching a movie, you wont be deafened if friend calls.
The various audio settings hint at the uses Turtle Beach is anticipating for this headset. As we mentioned earlier, gaming isnt huge on a Mac, but it is growing, and obviously gaming is massive on the iPad and iPhone. Here wed advice plugging the headphones in directly, rather than relying on Bluetooth though.

The superb 7.1 Surround Sound and 5.1 Channel DTS means this headset is ideal for watching movies. We also found the mid boost great for radio and TV programmes that focused on the spoken word. However, we found it frustrating that the audio levels in films were considerably lower than for music, meaning that movie sound levels were quiet unless we set it to super human hearing (perhaps you needed super human hearing to hear the other audio settings). Its odd that the sound levels were so different when movies and music were compared. Well look in to this further.
We were impressed with the audio quality for music – but our audiophile technical editor is yet to try them out himself, so we may update this article if he decries them not up to his exacting standards.

Unfortunately these arent noise cancelling headphones so they arent ideal for use in noisy environments. Noise leakage was reasonable, but if you do have the music on loud expect to annoy the person sitting beside you.

Turtle Beach i60 comfort
Since this is an over-ear headset many will be concerned about comfort, especially if you are planning to use them for long periods of time. We found them to be light weight, and the leatherette ear cups were soft and comfortable to wear. With its previous focus on game players, it appears that Turtle Beach knows how to make headphones that you can wear for long periods of time. We did feel that they were a little lose on our head, however.

The headset itself looks nice enough, with a white plastic finish that will stand out from the crowd (should you want to). The Turtle Beach logo will also speak to those who are familiar with the brand.

OUR VERDICT
The 349.99 asking price might seem a bit high and, as we said above, it puts them in the same league as Bose and the like. At that price wed hope for noise cancellation, but the surround sound quality is superior and as a result we suspect that it would take a lot of external noise to distract you. Our only criticism is that the audio levels are so different between music and movies and this makes the fact that the audio level can’t be turned up via the iPhone app all the more frustrating. (We’ll keep testing this aspect of the i60s and will update this review should we find a solution).
